Project: The Winter's Tale

When: Thursday, November 2 - Sunday, November 19 at 8pm

Where: Access Theater, New York, NY

In November, 2006 performed in Hipgnosis Theatre's production of The Winter's Tale. I played the role of Paulina. The run dates were Nov 2 - 19 @ Access Theatre in TriBeCa. It was quite a wonderful show!

ALSO . . . also performed at the Brick Theater in Williamsburg in their monthly Brick-a-Brac development series. It was a small but beautifully bizarre piece adapted from a bit of writing called Deep Wells, USA by Chris Bachelder which I found myself reading and hysterically enjoying in Harper's nearly two years ago. On stage with me was a bunch of stuffed animals along with fellow actor, Jonny Green. We were directed by Dominic D'Andrea.

Where: Brick Theater, 575 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY*

Deep Wells, USA, is written by Chris Bachelder. I first came across this dialogue piece (about a mythical American town called Deep Wells where there's a high risk of babies falling down wells) in Harpers in early 2005. It cracked me up so much that I decided to attempt making it a solo show. This proved too schizophrenic a task so I asked my fellow International WOW Company collaborator, Jonny Green, to take on half the roles. Our director is Dominic D'Andrea, who I worked with on Pleaching the Coffin Sisters at Ensemble Studio Theatre back in November, 2005. The piece is a hilarious riff on media frenzy and general American weirdness.

The author, Chris Bachelder, not only gave his permission but mailed me an extended version of the script that was published in McSweeny's. Mr. Bachelder's second novel, U.S.! : A Novel, was recently published by Bloomsbury USA.
